Neighborhood design: Steve has lived in Glenwood Springs since 1989, before Cardiff Glen, Park West and Park East were built. When these developments were proposed, he got involved in the planning process. He wanted to make sure these neighborhoods would be pleasant and affordable places to live.
Steve didn’t oppose these projects – he worked with City Council and the developers to make them fit our community and welcome our new neighbors.
Over the past 35 years, Steve has advocated for:
• A widened sidewalk along Midland Avenue on the west side of Park West, for a safe route to Sopris Elementary.
• The cut-through connection to Park West from the Three Mile - Atkinson Ditch Trail.
• The riverside trail along the east edge of Park East.
• A wide walking path along Airport Road between Cardiff Glen and Sopris Elementary.
• Safe crossings at the Four Mile-Midland-Airport Road Roundabout.
• Approval of the Streets and Infrastructure Fund, putting Glenwood Park streets and underground utilities high on the list.
